Biography:
Maik Taylor was appointed Northern Ireland goalkeeper coach in July 2013. His role saw him almost return to the playing squad as he was named among the substitutes for a World Cup qualifying match against Russia in August. He was again named among the match-day squad for the visit of Romania in June 2015 at the age of 43.

In March 2019 Taylor stepped down from his role with Northern Ireland to pursue other footballing opportunities. He immediately took a short-term position with Bradford City and has since been part of the staff at Walsall and Birmingham City.
