Biography:
(courtesy of John Floyd)
Son of former Manchester United defender, Steve, Alex Bruce played for Hull City where his father was manager.

A controversial selection for the Northern Ireland squad in October 2012, Bruce had previously rejected a Northern Ireland call-up, preferring instead to represent the Republic of Ireland. Having won two friendly caps for the south he became frustrated by his lack of opportunities and agreed a switch to the north with Nigel Worthington in the summer of 2011.

After finishing his professional career at Kilmarnock, Bruce combined non-league playing with scouting. In February 2022 he joined his father's coaching team at West Brom. In October 2023 he was appointed manager at Macclesfield, but left the following February to take a coaching role at Salford City..
