Biography:
A gifted defender, rated as among the best in the lower-leagues, Belfast-born Paul Morgan can consider himself unlucky to never add Full international honours to those he won at Under-21, Under-18 and Under-16 level.

Morgan rose through the ranks at Preston North End where his potential shone through. As a teenager he spent a spell on loan at Sligo Rovers, aiding them to a League of Ireland Cup Final win over Shelbourne. A succession of injuries limited him to a single Under-21 cap and just one first team appearance for Preston - a 1-0 League Cup defeat at Shrewsbury on 22nd August 2000. At the close of that season he was released after four years in Lancashire.

Snapped-up by Lincoln City, Morgan made his Football League debut in a 2-1 Third Division defeat by Halifax on 11th August 2001. He showed great form in his opening months at Sincil Bank and in late-2001 was called into the Northern Ireland squad by Sammy McIlroy only to be ruled out by injury. Morgan rose to captain The Imps, leading them to successive appearances in the Division Three (renamed League Two in 2004/05) play-offs. In 2004 and 2006 they lost out in semi-finals and in 2003 and 2005 in the final.

By the time of his departure in the summer of 2007 Morgan was regarded as amongst Lincoln's greatest ever players. He left to join Bury on a free transfer but struggled during his first campaign due to a knee injury. In the summer of 2008 he signed for Macclesfield on a seasons loan and following his release in the summer of 2009 he signed permanently.

In 2012 Morgan joined Accrington Stanley as head physio for the youth and academy teams.
